Contact the BSN

The BSN is a charitable association that offers support to English speaking residents in France when someone has died. We also offer the same services to those who are terminally ill, or to those caring for them. We are not professional therapists; we are fully trained grief supporters who are also trained Active Empathic Listeners.

If you are looking for immediate guidance, our Practical Information Hub provides comprehensive support on the administrative and legal requirements in France. You may find the following guides particularly helpful:

As well as information, we offer emotional support through 8 one-hour sessions via phone or video with a volunteer.

In order for us to better serve you, please answer the questions below:

* If you are a family member / friend reaching out on behalf of a loved one, while we appreciate your care and concern, please note we can only offer one-to-one support with the consent of the bereaved person. Kindly ask them to contact us directly when they are ready.
If you selected this option, a member of our team will call you to discuss your needs before we match you with a volunteer. Please provide two dates and times in the next week when you are available for this brief introductory call
If you selected “information by email”, please let us know in the box below what information you are looking for so we can assist you.

Thank you for your time and answers. Someone will be in touch as soon as they are able. Please note this will be sometime during weekday hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Please note that we are not a crisis organisation. If you need immediate help, please use the following services:
